Our community is working together to build new friendships, rekindle old, learn new routines and expectations, and adjust to learning in a transitional, community environment.
Math is being taught at grade level: Mrs. Newman teaching grade 4 math and Danika teaching grade 5.
Fourth graders are beginning the year with a unit on Geometry.
In writing children are creating their own, personal writer's notebooks. These notebooks will be their personal writing space to brainstorm, create and collect stories and ideas. Personalization fosters a commitment and excitement for the notebook. Children have already been inspired to collect many ideas that will grow into beautiful pieces of writing! Stay tuned!!!
Social Studies will be explored with Mrs. Newman for both home bases. It will start with a review and deeper study of the U.S. Regions. Teams will study a specific region and present a "commercial" to convince vacationers, their region is the best place to visit! We will then move on to begin some U.S. history!
